Hydrodynamic centrifugal well screen (HC screen)

Description

HC screen is designed to filter products from solids with a particle size of 30 microns or more.

HC screen operation is based on the kinetic energy of fluid flow produced by the work of the pumping unit. HC screen can be applied in water and oil wells after fracturing to protect pumping systems from the propping agents as well as to catch it in the store.

HC screen has the body with tangential windows in its upper part of the medium entrance. Inside the case there is a wedge wire screen. The size of the slot of inner filter element is selected according to the required filtration degree.

HC screen can be equipped with a protective screen, as well as the automatic flush valve of inner filter element cleaning. Protective screen is used for further product purification and prevents re-mixing of purified product with separated mechanical impurities.

The flush valve is required for automatic regeneration of the inner filter element surface during HC screen operation.

Mechanical impurities collector is installed in the lower part of the HC screen.

  4. Protective screen
  5. Automatic flash valve
  6. Mechanical impurities collector

HC screen various mounting options :

  • Hanging on the packer
  • Installation on a transition from a well with a larger diameter to a smaller ( in sand production water wells with filters installed)
  • Hanging on ESP with packer-disconnector
  • Hanging on ESP

Benefits

  • Simple design and no moving parts contributing to the operation without additional training
  • Easy to operate
  • Mechanical impurities are trapped in the bottom collector
  • Effectively protects pumping equipment, as well on the well repair, and during the operation
  • Filter elements are protected by the housing
  • Reduction of skin effect during the operation
  • Two-stage fluid cleaning ( oil, water):
    • The first purification stage: in the field of centrifugal forces;
    • The second purification stage: at the flow through the filter element.
  • Forecasting ( mathematical modeling )
  • Self-cleaning
  • After equipment replacing it is not necessary to clean the bottom hole
